Over its five-day run, from 15 to 19 May, LIGNA 2023, the world’s leading trade fair for woodworking and wood processing featured a plethora of innovations, inspiration and networking. 1,300 companies from 50 different countries presented their solutions for the wood industry, the furniture-making industry, the woodworking trades and the primary sector.

When the machines and systems are powered up and running again, furniture parts are produced in live demonstrations and innovations come to life – then you know it's LIGNA. The pandemic forced a four-year wait on exhibitors and visitors alike – now the world's leading trade fair for the woodworking and wood processing industry is finally taking place live again, and providing the opportunity for face-to-face contact and networking.

Climate change and current forest damage pose considerable challenges for the forestry and wood cluster. At the same time, new potentials for the raw material wood arise in the context of the transformation towards a modern, resource-efficient and climate-neutral economy. Under the motto "NRW - Making more out of wood" , the partners will present new and resource-efficient uses for the raw material wood at the joint stand of Wald und Holz NRW (Forrest and Wood NRW).

In addition to its centerpiece - the exhibition of woodworking and wood processing machinery and equipment - LIGNA.23 also offers its visitors an extensive supporting program. This year the LIGNA.Stage will celebrate its premiere in Hall 12, Stand A16. On all five days of the show, around 100 speakers will present a program of application- and solution-oriented presentations. Thematically, the program takes up the focus topics of LIGNA "Woodworking Transformation", "Prefab Building Processes" and "Green Material Processing" as well as the special interest topics "Recruiting & Careers" and "Sustainability & Circular Economy".
