The conference “Renewable Dialogue – North Sea Energy Hub” will take place for the first time on 23 April 2024 in the Convention Center at the Hannover Exhibition Center. There, politicians and experts from Germany and Partner Country Norway will discuss the energy transition with a focus on political conditions as well as technological developments and applications.

Sweden, the leading climate tech ecosystem in the EU by investment volume in 2023, is up for this year too. In the largest known green cement seed round to date, Swedish Cemvision joins forces with its compatriot investors Polar Structure and BackingMinds, and SF-based Zacua Ventures. The news comes soon after Cemvision announced its first official customer contract and is part of a plan to accelerate the company’s short-term momentum. The cement industry accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions and is an estimated $400B market globally.

Beginning of this year, the construction work on the wastewater treatment plant at the Koehler Paper site in Kehl was finally concluded after 18 months. The plant needed to be expanded due to the construction and commissioning of Production Line 8 in 2019, which resulted in an increase in wastewater volume.

Soilfood, a Finnish circular economy company, is processing the fibre-based side streams generated in the production of paperboard from manufacturer Metsä Board, into various soil improvement fibres for local farms. Soilfood has previously used these side streams from Metsä Board's board mills at Kemi and Äänekoski. Now the cooperation has been extended to the Tako mill, located in the centre of Tampere.

The HoegTemp heat pump from Enerin in Norway, this year's partner country at HANNOVER MESSE, generates industrial process heat at ultra-high temperatures in an environmentally friendly way. "The most exciting thing about the HoegTemp heat pump is its potential to save 300 billion kilowatt hours of industrial heat in Europe alone," says Arne Høeg, project manager and partner at Enerin.
