Battery cooling system zeta.road as high-voltage version up to 850 volts DC
More efficient battery use for road and special vehicles

By increasing the permissible operating voltage of the mobile battery cooling systems zeta.road to 850 volts DC, technotrans SE is making a pioneering contribution to improving electromobility. The technotrans solution can be connected directly to the battery voltage, so there is no need for an additional voltage converter. This saves costs, installation space, weight and the risk of failure of another component. By extending the voltage range, technotrans enables compatibility with even more powerful batteries. The new high-voltage system will be presented for the first time from 28 to 30 June at "The Battery Show 2022" in Stuttgart (Hall 8, Stand F81); the first prototypes are scheduled for use at the beginning of 2023.
Optimal cooling of the lithium-ion battery is of central importance for e-mobility. It is a condition for battery use in general and determines its efficiency and runtime.
"By connecting our cooling system directly to the battery voltage, we save on the voltage converter, reduce energy losses and increase the efficiency of the overall system," says Sascha Koller, Sales Manager at technotrans. "This technology enables us to keep pace with the development of even more powerful batteries. This makes us pioneers in the market."
Customised solutions for road and special vehicles
The zeta.road battery cooling system from technotrans is specially tailored to the requirements of electrified road vehicles: e-buses, self-propelled special vehicles at airports, at the shipping port or in mining - technotrans develops the individual cooling solution. "Whether it's humid salt-water air or a dusty desert climate - we also incorporate extreme ambient conditions into our application-specific engineering to create a stable temperature profile that is essential for the battery," explains Sascha Koller.
The battery cooling systems from the zeta.road series regulate the cooling capacity independently using software developed in-house with a focus on energy efficiency. This forms the core of technotrans cooling unit technology.
In addition, technotrans offers its customers not only pure battery cooling, but also Complete Thermal Management. If desired, the technology group's systems can also provide cooling for other components in addition to the battery, such as the traction system and power electronics. Furthermore, the battery cooling systems can also be supplemented with an additional heating function.
