The high-tech company TRUMPF and one of the leading manufacturers of automated warehouse systems, STOPA, want to work together even more closely in the future. The two companies have now announced an agreement to this effect.

STOPA supplies automated storage systems for TRUMPF's Smart Factory solutions, among others. Customers can use them to automate the loading and unloading of their machines and to network them logistically. Productivity in production increases because unproductive downtime is greatly reduced.

STOPA storage systems can be optimally adapted to the growing challenges of modern smart factory production or integrated into existing factories. The automation shows its special advantages in connection with the new TRUMPF software Oseon - with this, production planning and control can be simplified even more, up to fully automatic operation of the sheet metal production.

TRUMPF relies heavily on partnerships and open standards when expanding its Smart Factory solutions. These include the open interfaces of umati, the open positioning standards of omlox as well as the existing partnerships with the intralogistics specialist Jungheinrich, the coil handling, straightening and deburring machine expert ARKU, the machine software house Lantek and STARMATIK, a specialist for customised automation solutions.

TRUMPF recently combined the Smart Factory Solutions division under one organisational umbrella to focus on further growth.

STOPA was founded in 1963 in Achern, Germany, and employs around 370 people. The company specialises in automated storage systems for sheet metal and long goods as well as fully automated parking systems.

"After more than 35 years of successful partnership with TRUMPF in the automation of production, we are now looking forward to taking the next step together," says Michael Stolzer, shareholder of STOPA Anlagenbau GmbH.

Till Küppers, Managing Director of Machine Tool Production at TRUMPF, emphasises: "With this move, we want to put our joint success with STOPA on a new and future-proof footing, especially in the expansion of our Smart Factory solutions. Together with STOPA, we will be able to offer our customers an even more comprehensive range of efficient, sustainable and productivity-enhancing solutions in the future."

TRUMPF's investment in STOPA is still subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.
