This puts the expert for thin-film technology ahead of the majority of other companies in the industry in the area of sustainability and earns it the bronze medal. The environmental experts from EcoVadis, a renowned provider of sustainability ratings, praised in their report that "LEONHARD KURZ is actively working to further improve its sustainability management system."

120 participants from 15 countries joined the very rst edition of Textile Printing & Sustainability (TPS) – a new platform to learn and network about the most critical questions for today’s business and research. From October 19 to 26, 2022, the world’s largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, K 2022, will take place in Düsseldorf. In addition to the latest technologies and solutions in the field of industrial plastics and rubber processing, the topic of the circular economy is set to play a decisive role at the leading trade fair. The concept of a circular economy has gained immense importance in recent years and presents the entire industry with the challenge of obtaining new material types at least partially from recycled materials and making them usable for every processor - while maintaining the same high quality as new material.

Sustainability and the saving of resources are becoming increasingly important in the wake of climate change. As a global company, LEONHARD KURZ is aware of its responsibility and has therefore been consistently working on innovative processes and products with an improved ecobalance for many years. As part of this endeavor, the surface finishing expert from Fürth was the world’s first company in the plastics industry to introduce a PET take-back system called RECOSYS®. Customers can return the remnants of their transfer foils to KURZ, where they are recycled into a granulate by the name of RECOPOUND®. This can then be used to manufacture robust plastic components through injection molding.
