Metsä Board, the leading European producer of premium fresh fibre paperboards and part of Metsä Group, has, once again, been awarded the Platinum level rating by EcoVadis for the company’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Having improved the score to a record level 87/100 Metsä Board is among the highest 1% of companies assessed in the manufacture of corrugated paper and paperboard and containers of paper and paperboard.

Intelligent technology for designed packaging and optical hologram products is taking a step forward and is coming to the market in the near future. Woodly and Iscent in collaboration with Wipak have developed an optical hologram made on Woodly® material. The combination of innovative Woodly® material and Iscent’s holographic technology offers a cleantech material solution to consumer products and security applications of optical holography.

As a result of the collaboration between Woodly and Amerplast, the companies have commercialized a novel cellulose-based film made of 100% carbon-neutral and recyclable Woodly® material. The newest application made from the film is a heat-sealed bag for takeaway products launched by St1’s HelmiSimpukka restaurant chain in Finland.
