Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, inaugurated its renewed pulp mill in Husum, Sweden, on 3 May. Invited to the inauguration ceremony were, among others, project partners and representatives of Örnsköldsvik municipality.

Fujifilm Europe today announces its European packaging strategy and how it is developing new industry partnerships, and an extensive range of new packaging solutions, to drive improvements in quality, productivity and sustainability across the industry.
Labelprint24, the specialist high-tech online print provider for product labelling and packaging solutions, has invested in two Fujifilm digital print solutions: the Jet Press 750S High Speed Model, the first Jet Press installation globally to feature the recently introduced high-capacity option which has increased feed and delivery stack heights, and the Revoria Press PC1120. In combination, this dual investment will expand Labelprint24’s service offering, increase in-house production capacity and speed up turnaround times for its customers.
Fujifilm has added to its existing portfolio of analogue flexographic inks with the launch of a new range of LED IDFC (low migration) inks and varnishes. Available in a full spectrum of colours, the new ink set is designed for the label and flexible packaging markets where migration is a key priority, such as food applications, and is fully compatible with a wide range of commonly used label stocks and packaging materials.
Qualvis Packaging and Sun Chemical have collaborated to develop a highly sustainable chocolate truffle carton for chocolate manufacturer, Whitakers. The concept enabled Whitakers to transform an existing truffle carton that featured 55% plastic, into a highly recyclable light-weight fibre-based solution without plastic layer of the same dimensions, that uses Sun Chemical’s SunPak® DirectFood Plus highly bio-renewable direct-food contact inks and SunSpec™ SunStar direct-food contact aqueous varnish on the inside of the carton. The packaging will be on display at Sun Chemical’s stand at interpack (Hall 7a, Stand B03).
