The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the leading certification authority in sustainable printing, announced today that Hatteras, Tinton Falls, NJ, has become the most recent facility to attain SGP certification.

In advance of the release of the EU’s certification scheme for carbon removals, the first to be developed at international scale by a public body, Cepi presented a position paper outlining its views on this important tool to reach the European Union’s net zero carbon goals. It stresses the important role that the pulp and paper industry already plays in building a biogenic carbon cycle through its value chain, and how differentiated certification tools could better support its further development.

The graphical sector is part of Europe’s critical infrastructure, with printers producing essential products that are required across the European economy. The energy crisis – on top of the effects of the pandemic and dramatically increasing paper prices – has left many printing companies in a critical situation. This will have severe repercussions on the supply of printed products for all markets. Legislators at national and EU level must provide our industry with more support. The continuous supply of essential products is at stake.
