At their May 18-20, 2021 Awards Conference, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) recognized six Dow-connected projects as winners in the Best Tall Building category. The CTBUH Awards program honors projects that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability at the highest and broadest level.

The Citizen Information products of the Munich-based company Hawa Dawa, which specialises in the management of air quality, enable municipalities to make air quality information available to citizens digitally in a "moderated" way. Citizen information is becoming increasingly important: on the one hand, because today's information media have created a new standard of what is expected as commonly available information, and on the other hand, because those affected would like to form their own opinion based on current information, especially on urgent, important issues.

In collaboration with Järfälla municipality close to Stockholm in Sweden, Peab Asfalt is paving another test section with lignin on Viksjöleden road. Lignin is wood's natural binder. It can be used to partially replace oil-based bitumen, with significant environmental and technical benefits.

Deutsche Messe AG becomes a partner in the Test Field Lower Saxony consortium with the 5G exhibition center. This makes it part of a group consisting of the federal state of Lower Saxony, companies from Lower Saxony and research institutions that are working closely together and with joint financing to set up a test field in Lower Saxony.

Building for the future was the guiding principle in the design and construction of Strabag’s new accommodation facilities for apprentices. The Austrian construction company used prefabricated wooden elements by Stora Enso to build housing for 250 apprentices who start their career at the training center in Ybbs near Vienna. The project brings together the next generation of construction experts and wood, the renewable material of the future.
