Siegwerk hosted a packaging ink seminar in Jakarta in cooperation with the Indonesian Packaging Federation (IPF) today. The aim of the event with the title "Securing Future with Safe Packaging" was to address food packaging safety issues and raise awareness among brand owners, regulators, converters, printers, and other key stakeholders on the importance of safe packaging.

Aquapak Polymers Ltd has won 4evergreen’s award for addressing recycling challenges, part of its Circular Success Stories, which celebrates breakthrough projects and can serve as inspiring examples of fibre-based packaging circularity and sustainability. Specifically, Hydropol, a water-soluble, biodegradable polymer technology based on polyvinyl alcohol that can be extrusion coated or adhesive laminated as a film onto paper, which has been developed by Aquapak, has been recognised for its ability to address crucial recycling challenges.

Visitors to Xaar’s Open Day & FuturePrint Tech conference in Cambridge last week were the first to see the results of a research study into jetting high viscosity water-based inks, performed by Dr Chris Phillips and Professor Davide Deganello at the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating, Swansea University.
