SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global leader in smart energy technology, has introduced a new range of commercial inverters with Synergy Technology, now available for rooftop, ground mount and carport applications, in North America. Reaching up to 120kW, SolarEdge’s Three Phase Inverters with Synergy Technology are designed to provide more power and higher profitability in large-scale commercial and industrial (C&I) PV installations.

Hexagon AB, a global leader in sensor, software and autonomous solutions, today announced the first of R-evolution’s investments, which aim to reduce carbon emissions by ramping up renewable energy efficiencies and output. The acquisition of a 40-hectare site (equivalent to 60 football fields) in Archidona, Spain, marks R-evolution’s initial plans—to digitalise solar energy production. Launched in mid-February, R-evolution is Hexagon’s business venture focused on reinventing how industry addresses complex environmental challenges—profitably.

Vattenfall and BASF have agreed the sale of 49.5% of Vattenfall’s offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) in the Netherlands. Once fully commissioned it will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world and also the first one ever to be built without subsidies for the power produced.

Swedish Project AIR is an industrial concept to produce methanol from a large variety of recovered end-of-life streams and hydrogen from electrolysis. The project is carried out by the chemical group Perstorp in cooperation with Uniper and Fortum, and the aim is to reduce carbon emissions by up to half million tons annually. Project Air has now been allocated approximately EUR 30 million by the Swedish Energy Agency.

• Solar install expected to deliver electricity at a levelised cost of only 3.2p/kWh compared to the 9p/kWh paid on average by UK manufacturers, achieving payback in just 3.8 years

• SolarEdge’s optimised inverter solution chosen to overcome challenging aspects of install, while also maximising energy yield and reducing maintenance costs over the system’s lifetime

Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (President: UCHIDA Takashi; “Tokyo Gas”) and SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd. (President: HIROE Toshio; “SCREEN”) have agreed to jointly development (“development project”) a “water electrolysis cell stack*1,” a core component, and “water electrolysis cell stack manufacturing device” to build a water electrolysis system that will contribute to low-cost hydrogen production.
