SolarEdge Home ecosystem to integrate with one of Europe’s leading heat-pump manufacturers to further optimize energy consumption and provide enhanced capabilities to homeowners

SolarEdge Technologies, a global leader in smart energy technology, announced today that is has collaborated with European heating manufacturer Vaillant to integrate Vaillant heat pumps into the SolarEdge Home ecosystem. SolarEdge has also adopted the EEBUS protocol as a strong addition to its various protocol stacks that are already supported by the SolarEdge ONE operating system.

Optimizing and automating solar energy consumption within the home, SolarEdge Home bases load and scheduling decisions on the homeowner’s PV generation, energy use patterns, energy rates and personal preferences. By integrating a heat pump into the ecosystem, homeowners will be able to further optimize their energy consumption using excess PV or shifting consumption in accordance with optimal energy rates*. The integration with Vaillant will provide end-users with enhanced remote capabilities to monitor and control home temperatures via the mySolarEdge App, as well as the ability to power the heat pump with excess PV.

Alfred Karlstetter, General Manager of SolarEdge Europe: “Smart homes have mainly been about convenience and interconnectivity, but the next step is building a comprehensive and integrated ecosystem. By merging home devices with the value of smart solar energy through this integration with Vaillant, we are leading the way in making the power of smart solar energy more accessible, intuitive and convenient for more people.”

General availability is expected in the second half of 2023.

The growing suite of SolarEdge Home smart energy devices, which will include the Vaillant heat pump, will be presented at SolarEdge’s booth (Hall B4, Stand 110) at Intersolar Europe on the 14th-16th of June.

*Expected to save ~100 Euros per year by simply optimizing the consumption of the heat-pump at alternative times
