Konica Minolta's AccurioJet KM-1e press has been accredited by INGEDE, the international association of the deinking industry, for deinking uncoated papers printed with the system. Deinking technology allows papers to be fed into the recycling process.

Deinking is the process of removing ink from waste paper during recycling. Important process steps in deinking are the extraction of the ink pigments from the paper, the fragmentation of the ink into a defined size range and the removal from the pulp.
Konica Minolta's digital UV inkjet printing system, which is also known as the Swiss army knife of the printing industry because of its wide range of applications, has already received INGEDE deinking certification for coated papers, which even includes recycled materials. Following rigorous testing and evaluation of uncoated papers by INGEDE, where KM-1e achieved an extremely high score in the "Assessment of Print Product Recyclability - Deinkability Test" (INGEDE Method 11), the accreditation was extended.
The formal accreditation is another positive boost for customers, according to Hidetoshi Omo, Head of Competence KM-1 at Konica Business Solutions Europe. He says: "We are very proud to have received INGEDE accreditation for the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1e, which rewards a lot of hard work and inspiration from our development teams and underlines our commitment to sustainability."
"The AccurioJet KM-1e is a press that offers almost endless possibilities for printing on a variety of different substrates. With few digital presses having achieved this level of deinking, it now stands out even more from the competition and offers our customers even more opportunities to grow their business in a sustainable way."
