Kyocera Document Solutions Inc., one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, has installed a new solar power generation system at Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. to reduce CO2 emissions by 960 tones per year.

Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. (President: Hironori Ando) is pleased to announce that it has now fully activated the solar power generation system installed at Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc.

This large-scale solar system has been installed on the roof of Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc.’s headquarters in New Jersey, USA.

With the system now fully installed and activated, Kyocera has projected that it will reduce its CO2 emissions by 19,185 tons over the next 20 years. This would be equivalent to planting 287,000 trees.

Companies within the Kyocera Group are making strong progress towards achieving the organisation’s shared CO2 reduction target. Kyocera aims to reduce our Scope* 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by FY2031, when compared to our FY2020 levels.

“Once again, our organisation has put words into action and dedicated its resources to reducing our environmental impact and contributing to a reduction in global CO2 emissions.” says Takuya Marubayashi, President of Kyocera Document Solutions Europe, B.V. “We would also like to extend our congratulations to the teams who successfully installed and activated the solar power system at Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc.’s headquarters.”

The installation of this solar power generation system reflects Kyocera’s longstanding commitment to pursue a harmonious balance between economic development and environmental preservation. This initiative is also in line with our goal to provide our market with environmentally friendly products that are energy-efficient and long-lasting.

The Kyocera Document Solutions Group also aims to achieve 100% renewable energy across all of its sites by FY2031, a goal that will be reached by installing additional solar power generation systems at other sites in the United States and across the globe. In doing so, we will also obtain certificates of environmental value that attest to our commitment to put the planet first.

In order to contribute to the advancement and development of humanity and society, we will continue to support the sustainable development of our customers’ business by defining ‘Living Together’ as the cornerstone of all corporate activities at Kyocera.
