Join S-OneLP and the USDA as we partner to elevate awareness on the second annual National Biobased Products Day. Celebrated every March 8th, this celebration focuses on the many benefits of biobased products and how they protect the environment.

Biobased products refer to commercial or industrial goods that are composed, either wholly or in significant part, of biological products, renewable chemicals, renewable domestic agricultural materials, and/or forestry materials. These solutions are considered alternatives to conventional petroleum-derived products and contribute to sustainability.

Examples of biobased products include lubricants, detergents, inks, fertilizers, and bioplastics. They provide environmentally friendly alternatives in various sectors and contribute to reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

The USDA plays a significant role in promoting and certifying biobased products through its BioPreferred program. The program labels products that meet biobased content requirements, indicating their compliance with USDA standards. These labels help consumers identify and choose biobased products, contributing to the growth of the biobased market.
