Schaeffler's Automotive Aftermarket division is expanding its product portfolio under the INA brand to include electric auxiliary water pumps. Owners of combustion engines, electric vehicles and hybrids benefit from this aftermarket solution, which offers broad fleet coverage of more than 50 million vehicles from various well-known manufacturers.

According to Schaeffler, one of the leading suppliers to the automotive and mechanical engineering industry with headquarters in Herzogenaurach, efficient and reliable cooling solutions are the key to ensuring optimum operating temperatures and thus reducing the thermal load on critical components. In the course of the electrification of the vehicle fleet, the thermal management system is now becoming even more important, as the demands placed on the cooling system from a vehicle perspective are increasing and at the same time the complexity is growing. For these reasons, auxiliary water pumps play a key role in overrunning, fuel and turbocharger cooling. They are also essential for cooling the high-voltage battery and the inverter in hybrid and all-electric vehicles.

In the first phase, the company is launching eleven new auxiliary water pumps under the INA brand name, which have been developed for many high-volume vehicles from well-known manufacturers such as Toyota and Volkswagen. The range will be continuously expanded over the course of 2024 and beyond. The highlight of the initial portfolio is a pump for Toyota, Volvo and Lexus models, which is used for hybrid inverter cooling. Further pumps with a focus on the Volkswagen Group will cover the essential areas of additional cooling of the cooling water circuit and aftercooling when the combustion engine is switched off.
