Amperfied Wallbox connect.home receives renowned Red Dot Award for outstanding design

The charging station Amperfied Wallbox connect.home has been awarded the renowned "Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023".

Innovative design meets state-of-the-art functionality. Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) has been awarded the prestigious "Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023" for its charging station Amperfied Wallbox connect.home. The international jury of around 50 design experts stated: "The Amperfied Wallbox connect.home has a simple and functional design, so that it integrates harmoniously into facades".
Aesthetics and functionality in harmony

"Our goal was to create a product that meets the needs of our customers both aesthetically and functionally. The fact that we won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023 for this makes us very proud," explains Ulrich Grimm, technical managing director of Amperfied GmbH. "For us, design is not an end in itself, but must always have a function in daily use. Simple and intuitive operation for the consumer is the main focus."

Award for first representative of the new wallbox connect series

At the end of 2022, HEIDELBERG launched the connect.home wallbox, a new generation of wall charging stations for charging electric vehicles. It is the first representative of the connect series, which includes charging stations for home and business. Integration with a home photovoltaic system is also envisaged. Good industrial design offers great benefits for both HEIDELBERG and the end user. It improves product perception, increases user-friendliness, promotes branding and thus increases competitiveness. The connect.home wallbox, like the entire connect series, is made in Germany from development to production. All components are designed for reliability and durability as well as recycling and sustainability.

"The Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023 is an award for HEIDELBERG Industrial Design and its design approach, which combines the past, the future and func- tionality," explains Bernd Reibl, Head of Industrial Design at HEIDELBERG. "The housing with its silver-metallic frame and black pane picks up on the characteristic design of our first wallbox - and takes it into the future with practical details such as an integrated winding option for the charging cable combined with an ergonomically arranged parking holder for the charging coupler."

One of the best-known and largest design competitions in the world

The Red Dot Award: Product Design is considered one of the best-known and largest design competitions in the world, whose origins date back to 1955. Under the motto "In search of good design and innovation", a jury of around 50 international experts evaluates all submissions and awards prizes to products that impress them with their high design quality. The official announcement of the winners of all categories took place on 19 June. The award-winning products will be presented in a special exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen as well as online.
