As part of the world-leading trade fair glasstec 2024, held at Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 22 to 25 October, the 2-day CircuClarity One Conference will be organised on 22 and 23 October. This event, which goes back to a joint initiative by Dr. Lisa Rammig and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Linda Hildebrand, brings together international glass industry experts and researchers to present and discuss innovative approaches to circularity.
An honest look at progress: research meets industry
Incorporating CircuClarity One glasstec, as the world’s leading trade fair of the glass industry, will again provide a platform for exchange and innovation in 2024. It serves to introduce proven processes, trendsetting products and scalable methods, that have already scored the first successes and aim to drive circularity in the glass and façade segments. It connects a wide and varied array of stakeholders with each other. These include representatives of manufacturing, processing, engineering, architecture and science.
CircuClarity One acts as a special interface between science and industry here. Underlining the innovative character event Dr. Lisa Rammig, Director at Eckersley O'Callaghan, says: “We aim to offer a platform for knowledge exchange that leads to genuine progress and innovation in the sector.” The agenda features numerous lectures and panel discussions that show how circularity can be established in the glass industry. A special focus will be on proven successful strategies that not only work in theory but can also be implemented in practical terms.
“Circularity is one of the key drivers for innovation in the sector,” stresses Prof. Dr.-Ing. Linda Hildebrand. As a Professor for ‘Reuse in Architecture’ at RWTH Aachen, she is convinced that the efficient use of resources and the reduction of the environmental impact of material production are indispensable to rise to the challenges of the climate crisis.
The idea for the CircuClarity initiative was born at glasstec in 2022 – and what started as a small impulse has developed into a pioneering movement. Dr. Lisa Rammig describes this development as a response to the need for circular solutions in the glass industry: “The feedback was spectacular and the initiative quickly grew into a movement borne by a strong interest in change.” With the CircuClarity One Conference the initiative celebrates a premiere and returns to glasstec. It illustrates the progress made over the past two years and looks into the future of the glass industry.
The 2-day programme of CircuClarity One will feature up to 20 inspiring talks and exciting discussions addressing such topics as:
Design for Disassembly & Product Development |
Glass as a Scarce Resource, a Scenario of Tomorrow
Resources | Silicones and the Reuse of Glass
Material Recovery Systems & Energy | Lisec supports the circularity of flat glass with IG-D
A special highlight of the event will be the CircuClarity Awards given to honour innovative contributions to the circular economy in the glass and façade industry. Applications for participation are possible until 20 September 2024.
